Hello Teesdale.

Hope you are well and having a good friday night.

Friday is obviously the party night of the week, the weekend begins on a friday and many people spend many hours having a good time partying. Me? Sat in my bedroom on my laptop. Rock and roll.

A few weeks ago I went to see Oasis in Sunderland, they were absolutley amazing. I promised some pictures too, but completely forgot. I also learnt on this night that I'm awful at taking photos so I've uploaded the non blurry, non 'finger in the way of the lens', non awful pictures.

Chips. We got chips there. My girlfriend took this when I was at the toilet.

So, as you can probably tell, I had an amazing time. Chips AND Oasis - who could ask for more?

In other news, I'm going to London tomorrow to a Univeristy open day with my dad. Hopefully something amusing will happen and will make a humerous story on air for Sunday. So tune in on Sunday for a possible hilarious tale about London.

Well, exams are over and have all gone quite well, which is good.

In terms of Sundays, I'm back this Sunday from 1pm. Very excited.
So we've got a few new things up our sleeve coming in a few weeks and the usual fun and games. Please tune in and don't miss it.

Off to Sheffield today to visit my sister. Then tomorrow I'm off to see the mighty Oasis in Sunderland. Very excited about that.

Got tickets last night as someone I know can't go - so I get to go. Posh seats too.

I'll post pictures and stuff up here, but we'll definatley be talking about it on Sunday. So don't miss it!

Hello world.

I apologise for the lack of recent updates, there are two reasons for this:

1. I've had exams for ages. Got a week or so until the next one so have a free night!
2. I forgot my password. I had to get this reset and everything which is a longer process than it sounds.

Hope you are all are well. I should be on this Sunday, I think I'm down to do a show. I'll turn up and see what happens.

Also, apologies for the lack of shows recently too. Exams are to blame!

Back properly on June 14th, which I am very much looking forward to. We've got some new ideas and fun features but these aren't finalised yet. Need to pass them past Tom and then big bosses! Hopefully some new stuff soon.

As you all probably know, I'm quite a big music fan.
I work on the radio which means I play loads of music every day and I'm always on the lookout for new stuff.

It's called The Prayer by Kid Cudi (they did that Day 'N' Nite song) and it is amazing.

It samples Band Of Horses - The Funueral, and it's just an amazing song.

I don't know when it's out for download so I doubt I'll be able to play it on the show for quite a while - but when we get it at Radio Teesdale, I'll be all over it like a rash. Be warned!

Sam, Tom and I spend about half an hour deciding what to play and in what order every week for the show. It's quite amazing how we make so much of a big deal out of the music! Last week we picked 'A-ha - Sun Always Shines On Tv' because it won a coin toss against another song. That's how fun we make picking music.

Sorry for the lack of blogs recently, I have been extremely busy.
I think this is the first bit of free time I've had in about two weeks now.

I'll start with a general plug for the show. If you've never listened before, I'm on air Sunday afternoons from 1pm. If you do listen, we've got a new feature coming on Sunday.

You'll love it. Honest.

Last weekend I went to see Marley and Me at the cinema. It was extremely sad.

I didn't, however, cry in the cinema. Some people did but I wouldn't be able to live with the embarrasment.

I nearly did though. And you know me, Alex "hard as nails" James.

Anyway, I hope your life is going well at the moment. It's spring but feels a bit like summer.

I hope we have a good summer. We usually have a great, hot, summery spring and then a miserable Summer. Let's do a summer dance or something to make sure we get it hot this year.

As always, sorry for wasting your time with my ramblings.

Hello Blog fans!
Hope you are all well. I've got a cold. Again. Second one since Christmas, which is too many really.

Anyway, I've got an amazing weekend planned. I'm going to watch Comic Relief with my girlfriend tomorrow night, which will be good and then on Saturday, I'm going to see Mark Watson*. He's the funny Welsh one off Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Can't wait for that, it's going to be amazing.

No doubt I'll have stories to tell on this during Sunday's show.

Bit of a heads up for Sunday, the random question is going to be 'what's your favourite cereal?', feel free to comment your reply below. If not, we'll do it live on Sunday from 1.

Hello.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

On today's show, we had a new addition to the team. Tom. He's doing some off air work for the show and also going to be on air occasionally too.
So, if you missed him today, he'll be back next week (I think).

Anyway, I hope you've had a good weekend.
Mine's been great.
Friday night = brilliant.
Saturday = brilliant
Sunday (until now) = brilliant.

My weekend has been slightly ruined though. I keep getting loads of spam texts, which cost me a POUND to recieve. So my credit is slowly wasting away.
I'm probably going to have to get a new number or something which is a shame as I've just memorized this one.
But it's not the end of the world. It just means I'm going to have to pay for a new number and constant phone top ups so that my credit isn't always on £0.00.

Hope you enjoyed the show today, Sam went for the mystery song today. It was Down Under by Men At Work. I didn't know what it was until 1:55 either, I made sure that I didn't look. But, despite being one of the worst songs ever, it was worth seeing Sam get a bit worked up about having to pick it.
Also, it beats Marc Cohn anyday.

Ideas for the mystery song would be good too, it's either got to be brilliant or terrible. This week's was terrible.

Anyway, have a good week. I'll probably blog during the week, but if I don't I'll see you on Sunday.

Currently on the Radio Teesdale website, there's a bit about the current education drive we're doing and the Junior Radio program.

If Radio Teesdale have been to your school and you're reading this because you've come onto the website, hello! (I'm on Sundays 1pm)

Anyway, I wish we'd had something like this when I was at primary school. The most exciting thing that we ever did was watch a play about telephones. It looks amazing. I've always loved radio, and would have loved it if a station had come to visit us!
So, if Radio Teesdale have been to visit you, you're very lucky and I hope that you will be involved in Radio Teesdale soon. It's a very good thing!

Had a brilliant afternoon with Illegitimate Sons Of The King . They recorded 3 acoustic tracks and then we had a 'sofa interview' which you can see in the image above. We thought we'd go for a 'chilled' atmosphere, and it worked.

The interview went really good. I decided what their next song should be about, we talked about French cheese and also played a game (you'll have to listen to the interview on Sunday).
But they're a great bunch of guys and the afternoon was so much fun.

You'll be able to hear what we did on Sunday on Radio Teesdale.
We've also got 5 CDs to give away, so tune in from 1pm on Sunday.

Yesterday, I had a very romantic day with my girlfriend. It involved shopping and indian food. But in the restaurant on the night time, a certain celebrity came in (Alison King aka Carla from Corrie) and ate her indian food.

I'm still not 100% if it was her or infact just someone who looked like her. But she did sound like her and she was hiding her face. So I think it was. So did my girlfriend.

We played a game called 'see who can get the most coronation street references in' to try and get her attention. I won.

Anyway, we'll be talking about this on the show today.

I got taught how to play chess yesterday night on a virtual chess game (it sounds geekier than it actually is) and I'm not that bad ait it really.

I Won my first game, even though the person I was playing let me win, and then got completley whopped on the second.

I've never been able to play chess before and never learnt. So if you're a big chess fan, I can play now so fancy a game?

Also, the 'random question to open the show' this week is simply: is your belly button an innie or an outie?

New studio fun

If you missed Sunday's show then you missed a good one.
We were from our 'new' studio.

The whole new studio fact sounds much more interesting than it is. Teesdale live have been moved to a sunday afternoon slot (straight after me) and they have live bands in and stuff so need the studio to set up in ages before they go on air.

Because of this, I have to broadcast from Studio 1 (instead of studio 2 which I have done for a year [except once when studio 2 failed and we did the show from 1])
Now, don't get me wrong, I quite like studio 2. It has been my home for over a year every Sunday afternoon and it's really big and spacious, but there's something really amazing about studio 1. It's smaller, air conditioned and the desk hasn't been used as much so all the faders aren't worn down. AND I LOVE IT.

So, tune in every Sunday from 1pm to hear me from Studio 1 instead of 2.

If you really couldn't care which studio I come from now, sorry I've just wasted about 2 minutes of your life.

Hello. Hope you're okay

Merry Christmas for next week, I'm actually very excited about it.

One thing I'm not very excited about is today: I have man flu so feel like absolute rubbish and I'm supposed to be going to a Christmas party tonight but I guess I'll have to miss it.

If you've got any amazing remedies for man flu please comment on this blog, I'm willing to try anything to feel a little bit better.

Sorry for the lack of blogs recently, I have been extremely busy and have just about finished everything I'm supposed to have done.

Tune in this Sunday for the big final of Santa Idol. This week, to really test them, we've got 10 questions for each contestant. So a true winner will be found.

Ages ago on the show we played our end of conversation game where you say something really stupid/bizzare really loudly so people hear it, for example "and that's why I smell like a lion and only three fingers left". I heared the BEST one ever.

"Eeee after that she's scared of hand driers, even to this day"

That was the funniest thing I have ever heard outside some public toilets.

Today in the news there was a pretty young couple who were getting married. Bless them. They had everything sorted; church, dresses and stuff, cars, food. But, the food was the problem.
They turned up to their wedding reception to find out that there was no food. So what would any normal person do in this situation? Ring the caterers to find out what's going on?

Quite the opposite.

They rang the local chippy. Luckily for them, the staff gave them all some fish and chips.
I would have hated that. I don't like fish.

But on the telly, one of the wedding goers 'katy' said that she was 'impressed with the service' and that the 'salt, vinegar and ketchup' made her day.

She needs to get out more.

More terrible things have happened in the world than this. We'll be talking about this on sunday - so if something like this has ever happened to you, leave me a comment and we'll read it out.

He's not weird. He's a radio presenter

Hello. Welcome to the blog.

I'd intended to update it on Sundays after the show...but I err forgot. Sorry.

A few weeks ago I was in Newcastle down by the Quayside. It was nice. There was a massive bamboo bridge with some bamboo tied to the railings for you to hit and it made a tune. Here's a picture of me hitting the bamboo.

Hello to the small child who looked at me when I was hitting the bamboo, also thanks to my mate, Rachael, who kindly announced 'he's not weird. He's a radio presenter.'

James, who works on the show, decided that we had to do some videos between the songs in a kind of 'video blog' to keep the people of teesdale interested in me. So, on Sunday we're going to be recording some 'behind the scenes' videos to upload to the blog. I doubt they'll be very good because we haven't got a video camera or any way of taking videos. But keep everything crossed and we'll put some video's on this sunday.

Just a thought, how many apples are consumed each year? I've got about 10 in my house...
